What is the ePGA for Psoriasis?

The electronic Physician Global Assessment (ePGA) is a 5- or sometimes 6-point scoring system used to assess the severity of psoriasis. The terms physician or investigator global assessment may be used interchangeably. The PGA is used as a global static assessment of all lesions and gives a general impression of the severity or improvement of psoriasis over time. The PGA was originally developed to measure disease severity within clinical trials and is one of the standard parameters gathered to assess treatment success. In recent years, the PGA has become more commonly used in clinical practice to guide treatment decisions for physicians and document the impact of clinical treatment over time.

How to use the ePGA for Psoriasis

The ePGA should only be used by trained physicians. The score is measured by the number and severity of lesion induration, erythema and scale and ranges from 0 - clear to 4 - severe. Each severity grade is distinctly defined by a relevant morphologic description to ensure comparability of ePGA scores between health care providers and over time.
